Key VFF roles filled

Craig Henderson has been elected to the role of VFF grains council president, with Ryan Milgate as his vice-president – both unopposed.

VFF acting returning officer Brendan Tatham says he congratulated both men and “looks forward to working with them and the wider VFF team to help deliver for grain farmers throughout Victoria in the coming years”.

Mr Henderson is a fifth-generation cropping farmer from the northern Wimmera/southern Mallee region.

He has previously held the role of VFF grains group vice-president and says he focused on continuing to advocate on behalf of all Victorian grain farmers in the years ahead.

Ryan is a mixed-farmer from Minyip in the Wimmera and northern Grampians regions. He is also the current VFF transport and infrastructure chair and looks forward to advocating for increased funding and infrastructure to help Victorian grain farmers efficiently transport their produce from paddock to market.

Brendan says the VFF also thanked outgoing grains president Ashley Fraser for his work on behalf of Victorian growers.

“The Rutherglen farmer has given the council, the VFF and the state’s growers nothing but dedication and passion in the role he has held since 2019,” he added.

“Mr Fraser’s work on behalf of Victorian growers has been incredible and the VFF would like to thank him for his tireless efforts.”

The VFF also congratulated the following councillor positions, also returned uncontested: Charlton: Jason Mellings. Bendigo: Russell Hocking. Southern: Anthony Mulcahy. West Wimmera: Ashleigh Brooks
