Speed Lions win top gong

SPEED Lions Club has won the prestigious Awards Australia Community Group Award at the 2022 Victorian Community Achievement Awards, winning the honour from a strong field of community achievers.

The club consists of 24 volunteer members who are committed to raising much-needed funds for the community.

Their signature event — the Mallee Machinery Field Days — is the largest agricultural and agribusiness trade show run by farmers for farmers.

Now on its 42nd year, the two-day event attracts more than 350 exhibitors across Australia and has provided numerous fundraising opportunities for the local community.

The six category winners are:

Winners in each of six categories received $2000 in prizes along with a trophy.

The awards night culminated a successful year with hundreds of nominations received from across regional Victoria.

More than 200 guests gathered from across the state to celebrate Victoria’s high achievers.
