On a winner with fertilisers

Peter Harrick at Agri Turf Management reckons his farming clients are on a winner with the range of biological fertilisers.

In the wider market, Peter says the fertilisers are primarily ligno organically chelated liquid nutrients – as both a liquid fertiliser and in animal health supplements.

He says the Victorian developed and manufactured products now include Watchet-Gro N26%.

Watchet-Gro N26% Nitrogen is manufactured and developed by Westminster Pastoral at Linton Victoria.

This product also contains 5% Fulvic Plus, amino acids and ammonium lignoureate.

Fulvic Plus will increase the cation exchange capacity in paddocks because it contains carbon – and most nutrients are held in carbon.

It also contains oxygen – very important for microbiology – sulphur and trace elements and has a molecular weight of 360 microns.

This opens the cell well of the plants allowing

a greater efficiency of fluids applied.

It also prevents leeching of nutrients and increases water holding capacity.

Amino acids assist sugar translocation, the plant exudes sugars to the microbes which in turn pass on nutrients to the plant.

Suggested application rates 10-20 litre per hectare. One litre is equivalent in effectiveness to 10kg of sold fertiliser.

Save up to 50 per cent on costs using WPC 26% Nitrogen at 10 litres per hectare is approximately $50 – with an efficiency rate of 85-95 per cent.

These ligno sulphonated elements are organically chelated, which prevents them from tying each other up, or locking up with other substances. It also minimises loss of nitrogen into the atmosphere because nitrogen is encased in a protective shell.

This does not destroy soil microbes, nor does it take out the soil boron which is the second element taken up by the plant after sulphur. It combines with calcium and silica to form solid stems.
