BIRCHIP Cropping Group will stage its first Young Farmer Network event of the year – Igniting Resilience – at Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement on Friday, March 17.
The free event will focus on building drought resilience and connection with The Unbreakable Farmer, Warren Davies, as guest speaker.
BCG said The Unbreakable Farmer’s life journey and storytelling engaged his audience, while his down-to-earth approach made his story and strategies relevant to all.
BCG senior manager of extension and communication, Kelly Angel, who leads BCG’s Young Farmer Network, said the event was not to be missed. “Warren’s message is simple and so important at any time of our lives, but particularly post-pandemic and following the heightened stresses brought on by the 2022 season,” she said.
“As part of the Victorian Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub north-west node, BCG is hosting this event to ignite resilience in our young ag professionals by building and strengthening connections and relationships.
“We know the intrinsic link between strong connections and health and wellbeing and this is why we want to foster these through this event.”
The event beings at 5pm with a happy hour cruise on the paddlesteamer Pyap, followed by live music and wood-fired pizzas at the Lower Murray Inn.
