Sheep farmers asked for input

WOOL growers are being urged to participate in a process seeking to help set the levy rate for the fiber during the coming three years.

Participation in WoolPoll – a voluntary vote of wool levy payers who have paid at least $100 in levies over the past three years – opened on Friday, September 20.

WoolPoll chair Rich Keniry said the process allowed growers to have a say about the future of the industry, and it only takes five minutes.

“From research and development into flystrike to driving overseas demand or promoting our eco-credentials, you can have your say about how much of your money is invested by Australian Wool Innovation back into the industry,” Mr Keniry said.

“WoolPoll only comes around every three years so don’t miss this opportunity to have your say.”

More information can be found at wool.com/woolpoll and voting closes on November 1.

“You can vote online or simply return the voting kit which is mailed directly to eligible voters,” Mr Keniry said.

“Voters can have their say through a self-addressed mail, email, or fax – whatever suits the best.

“Ultimately, you’ll get what you pay for.

“Don’t let someone else decide for you.”

– Wade Stephens
