Strong sheep sales at Ouyen

AT last week’s Ouyen sheep sale, the 14,331 lambs and sheep yarded saw the recent strength in the market continue.

Export sheep finished the day $10 to $15 dearer, with trade sheep matching that increase.

Both heavy and trade mutton rose between $5 and $10, while lighter mutton types were $10-$15 dearer.

Older export lambs reached a high of $229 or 680c/kg, trade lambs peaked at $165 (650c/kg) while heavy Merino lambs topped out at $234.
