Capturing the spirit of Sunraysia

SOMETIMES the universe has a funny way of leading you to your true destination.

This was the case for Sunraysia Balm and Salt owners, Elaine and Damian Green.

When a car accident prevented Elaine fulfilling her role in the hospitality industry, she knew she had to look for an alternative career.

“I wasn’t able to stand for long periods,” she said.

“But doing nothing, I was bored to tears.”

Attending a retreat became a turning point for the duo, who began to dabble in essential oils and natural products.

Having owned and operated a catering business in the past, Ms Green said the transition to bath and beauty products was in some ways seamless.

“It’s similar to cooking but you’re using different ingredients,” Ms Green said.

In 2021 the husband and wife attended their first market with a small batch of handmade bath and body products.

Since then the business has evolved and their current range consists of oil blend rollers, soaps, lip balms, beard and cracked-heel balms, and bath salts.

Passionate about incorporating natural products while promoting the Sunraysia region – which they are proud to call home – the Greens have combined these elements as part of their brand, with products such as the Mallee Scrub Aloe Soap with pumice, and the Spirit of Sunraysia Essential Oil Blend Roller which features a unique combination of mandarin, lemon myrtle and sweet orange fragrances.

They also sell a range of handmade crystal and costume jewellery.

Ms Green said she was looking forward to showcasing their products at the Mallee Machinery Field Days for the first time this year.

“We’re looking forward to meeting new people and introducing our products to a different market,” Ms Green said.

You’ll find Sunraysia Balm and Salt in the Craft and Interest Marquee on both days.
