A HEAVY downpour in the middle of last month is the only rain of note to have fallen on Mildura this year, a fortnight from the start of winter.

And although that two-day soaking brought 20.4mm, which was 0.6mm above the average for April, the rest of the month brought only 2.6mm spread across five showery days.
